-Q: What is Smartsheet Labs?
3
A: Labs is a place to test-drive new, experimental apps built by Smartsheet on the Smartsheet platform. Smartsheet Labs apps are not official Smartsheet products – they should be considered community projects and are free to use, but not officially supported, tested or documented. Please note that because of the experimental nature of Labs, the apps may break, change or be removed at any time.
4
-Q: What is the cost to use Smartsheet Labs?
5
A: Smartsheet Labs applications are free to use.
6
-Q: How do I contact support if I run into a problem or want a new feature?
7
A: Please submit your question or feedback to smartsheetlabs@smartsheet.com. Smartsheet Labs applications are community projects and are not officially supported, but we will do our best to get back to you.

Charts
10
-Q: What is Smartsheet Charts?
11
A: Charts make it possible to chart or graph Smartsheet sheet or report data.
12
-Q: I created a chart but no data shows up in my graph. Why?
13
A: Please make sure you have selected at least one row of data.
14
-Q: How do I group by Checkbox columns?
15
A: Grouping by a Checkbox column is not supported at this time.
16
-Q: How do I select rows in a Smartsheet report?
17
A: Selecting rows in a report is not supported at this time.
18
-Q: How do I chart more than the first 100 rows in a report?
19
A: Only the first 100 rows are supported at this time.
20
-Q: How do I select rows when using the "Calculate my data…" option?
21
A: Selecting rows when using the "Calculate my data…" option is not supported at this time. All rows with values will be included in the calculation.
22
-Q: How do I print a chart?
23
A: Hover over the chart thumbnail, in the popup action menu click on the "expand" icon, and in the expanded chart view click on the "download" icon to download the chart in PNG format.
24
-Q: I get an error when I view my chart.
25
A: Make sure you are not trying to chart text data when numeric values are required. Make sure that the values in each column correspond to the data type expected by chart type you selected.
26
A: Double check your column types. Each chart type only supports certain combinations of column types. If you select data and a chart type that don't work together, you may get a cryptic error message.
27
-Q: How can I share a chart with someone else?
28
A: You have a couple different options to share your chart with others. If you want to email a snapshot, click the expand button on your chart, resize the window to get the size you want, and then click the download button to save it as a PNG image.
You can also share your chart via a link, similar to sharing Google photos or Google docs. Click the Share button to turn sharing on for your chart, then distribute the link as you see fit. Anyone with the link will be able to see your chart. When you turn off sharing, the link is gone for good and a brand new one will be created if you enable it again.
29
-Q: How do I embed a chart in a webpage?
30
A: Use the Share feature to share your chart, and an embed code will be generated for you. Copy the code and insert it into your web page to display the chart on your website.
31
-Q: Is it possible to create a combo chart?
32
Theoretically, yes - "combo" is one of the available chart options. There is, however, at least one outstanding issue with building combo charts - in some instances, changes to combo charts are not saved.

The combo chart issue is caused by a bug in the underlying Google Vizualization library which we are using to power the Charts. We don't have any control over it, but we have reached out to Google asking them to prioritize a fix. They have indicated that they will address it some time soon, but no ETA at this time.

We encourage you to leave a vote on this Google bug to ask them to fix it here https://code.google.com/p/google-visualization-api-issues/issues/detail?id=1183.

Maps
35
-Q: What is Smartsheet Maps?
36
A: Smartsheet Maps allows you to take any location-based data addresses stored in Smartsheet and plot it on a map.
37
-Q: Can I map more than one sheet at a time?
38
A: Yes, mapping multiple sheets is possible.
39
-Q: Can I set up multiple maps?
40
A: Yes, multiple map configurations are supported.
41
-Q: What does the "Group by" option do?
42
A: Group by allows grouping multiple entries together (based on a specific column in Smartsheet). Every unique value (up to a total of 12 unique values) in the column will be assigned a unique marker color when plotted on the map. It also allows toggling markets on and off as a group so you can easily compare groups - i.e., where all the high performing store locations are vs. the low performing ones, and so on.
43
-Q: Can I use GPS coordinates (latitude and longitude) instead of a street address?
44
A: Yes. Either use the "Address stored in one column" option and point at that column that contains latitude and longitude separated by a space, or use the "Address stored in multiple columns option and point "Address 1" at the column containing latitude values, and "Address 2" at the column containing longitude values.
45
46
Report Viewer
47
Q: What is Report Viewer?
48
A: Report Viewer allows you to share a link to a read-only Smartsheet report or embed a read-only report in a webpage.
49
50
Q: Who can view shared reports?
51
A: Anyone with the link can use it to view the report data in real-time, even if they aren't shared to the underlying source sheets.
52
53
Q: What happens to the link when you make changes to your Smartsheet Report?
54
A: Any time you modify your Smartsheet Report, the changes would be instantly reflected in Report Viewer.
55
56
Q: Can I stop sharing a report I previously shared?
57
A: Yes, simply turn off sharing for a report you no longer wish to share. When you turn off sharing, the link is gone for good and a brand new one will be created if you enable it again.
58
59
Q: Can I share more than one report at a time?
60
A: Yes, you can share as many reports as you want.
61
62
DocuSign + Smartsheet
63
-Q: When does the signed attachment get re-attached back to the sheet?
64
A: Only after the envelope has been signed and completed by all parties
65
-Q: How do I include multiple attachments in an envelope?
66
A: We currently only support single-file attachments. If you would like to have multiple documents in a single envelope you must first combine the files into one.
67
-Q: I have several DocuSign Templates. Can I use these instead of attachments on rows?
68
A: You cannot use them instead of an attachment, but can use them in conjunction with an attachment. To make this work, you'd need to have a document attached to a row (could be a cover sheet, a blank sheet, or anything you choose). Create a DocuSign envelope using the document attached to the row. After you click the "Review and Send" button you are taken to DocuSign's website to finish the envelope preparation process. From this screen, you can add templates to the envelope using the "Documents" button on the top right of the screen. Once you have added the template, you'll need to reconcile the recipients by clicking on the "To" field.

70
Evernote + Smartsheet
71
-Q: How do I select which notes to sync?
72
A:You can only sync an entire notebook currently.
73
-Q: What happens if I delete a row in Smartsheet where a note was exported and then re-run the sync?
74
A: A new row will be created in its place, including all of the appropriate Evernote data.
75
-Q: I've updated my content in Smartsheet and I want to sync that back to Evernote. Can I do this?
76
No, we currently only support a one-way, Evernote to Smartsheet sync
77
-Q: I've updated the data in Smartsheet from an Evernote sync and I want to re-run the sync. What will happen to my data?
78
If you have made changes to cells in columns that are mapped to your Evernote Notebook, the sync will overwrite your changes in Smartsheet. Cells in columns that are not mapped will not be affected
79
80
Harvest + Smartsheet
81
-Q: Can I export time entry data for Harvest users other than myself?
82
A: Not currently. The Smartsheet + Harvest integration currently only exports time entries for the user performing the export. Exporting time entries for other users is currently not supported.
83
-Q: What mapping options are available to Harvest project managers?
84
A: Harvest project managers can map tasks from their sheet to existing tasks in the selected Harvest project. They can also create new Harvest projects (if given the permission in Harvest).
85
-Q: What are Harvest administrators allowed to do?
86
A: Harvest administrators can map tasks from their sheet to existing tasks in the selected Harvest project. They can also assign existing Harvest tasks to the selected project, as well as create new tasks in Harvest and assign them to the selected project. Administrators can also create new projects.
87
88
MailChimp + Smartsheet
89
-Q: I want to add more contacts to MailChimp than Smartsheet will allow me to have in a single sheet (~ 5,000). How should I work around the 5k row limit?
90
A: One approach to work around the current sheet size limitation is to create a separate sheet for every letter of the alphabet.
