The ADR Advisory Board assists Pierce County Aging and Disability Resources with program planning, funds allocation, evaluation of contracted services, identification of unmet community needs, and community education. Members also serve as liaisons between the ADR program and the public, which includes informing legislators on key issues impacting older adults and adults with disabilities. The board’s membership is comprised of older adults, persons with disabilities, service recipients, professionals and an elected official.
Advisory Board meetings are held at 10 a.m. on the 3rd Tuesday of every other month and members actively serve on one or more board committees. Board applicants must be a Pierce County resident, not employed by Pierce County Government and not a member of an organization funded by or through Pierce County ADR.
The board desires to have a balanced membership representative of the Pierce County population. While we encourage all interested parties to apply, the board is currently seeking representation from African American, Black, Asian, Hispanic, Latino, Native American, Pacific Islander, and ethnic/racial minority groups, low income older adults, persons employed by or having volunteer experience with a health care organization or aging and disability service organization.
