The Commission helps make sure that appointments, classification, appeals and other personnel issues are fair and comply with the rules. Commissioners are appointed by the County Executive, confirmed by the County Council, and serve a six‑year term. The role includes attending monthly meetings, with occasional special meetings when needed. To qualify, you must have lived in Pierce County for at least two years, be a registered voter in Pierce County and be a U.S. citizen. Commissioners cannot hold any salaried public office or engage in county employment.
