Our focus is on working with livestock to steward resilient grasslands. The business was founded in March 2020. Over the past few years, we have built partnerships with a variety of organizations that enable us to be the best stewards we can be. For us, stewardship of land is an integral piece to how we farm. Being a steward means that when we make farming decisions we base our decisions off of what is best for the land rather than what’s best for the production of our farming products. Whether it’s moving animals, planning irrigation, or planting native seeds, Grama Grass takes into consideration all the aspects of the ecosystem before making a decision. Because of this process, Grama Grass has been able to find both private and public land owners whose values are aligned with ours. By combining our values of grassland stewardship with our principles of adaptive stockmanship, we are able to produce a nutrient-dense, local, prairie-grazed meat product. We believe by focusing on producing regenerative meat in conjunction with the land we are contributing towards a stronger community.

We do offer educational tours.

I am a Registered Dietitian and meat scientists and I am passionate about the role of nutrition in child development. I was born and raised on a farm and ranch, so in addition to working in nutrition research, I started a meat business which sells whole, half and quarter shares, as well as in a retail location and at the Cherry Creek Farmers Market. We love hosting and telling the farming and ranching story!
