Community Centers
ClosedDue to the ongoing restrictions related to indoor gatherings, the feedback from our recent survey indicating the majority of respondents aren’t comfortable returning to indoor activities just yet, and the financial shortfalls of the district it has become apparent that these won’t reopen until well into Phase 4.
Indoor Meeting/Multipurpose Rooms/Facility Rentals
Fort Nisqually Living History Museum

Meadow Park Golf Course
Open for business with touchless golf and social distancing guidelines implemented.
Metro Parks Headquarters
Closed to the public. Open to staff with social distancing guidelines implemented.
Northwest Trek Wildlife Park
Wild Drive and Walk Wild experiences are open. Pre-purchased, timed tickets required for entry.
Point Defiance Marina
Marina open with social distancing guidelines implemented. Lifts are operating, boat rentals available, fishing pier open, launch is open, tackle shop is open.
Point Defiance Park
Gates and roads (except outer loop of Five Mile Drive) were opened on July 8. Face coverings required unless able to maintain distance of at least six feet from others outside household. Please note the NW Native garden will remain closed while a water main leak is repaired.
Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium
Open. Pre-purchased, timed tickets required for entry.
Pools - Indoor
Pools - Outdoor
Closed. Not only do requirements for social distancing significantly reduce revenue potential by drastically reducing normal pool capacity, the unknown timing for transitioning to Phase 3 and required start up time to prep the pools and train staff do not pencil out for a financially sound operation this summer.
Tacoma Nature Center
Summer preschool begins July 7. Nature camps begin July 13. The Nature Center building is not open to the public but trails and parking are open. The Discovery Pond playground will tentatively open on July 15.
