Byproduct HandlingNoNoNoAdvanced Tanning Solutions specializes in the development of chemistry for hair-on animal hide tanning. Our founder, Dale Knobloch, is a true pioneer in the world of taxidermy and tanning. He introduced the first “home tan” to the industry over 40 years ago making it possible for small companies to create their own in-house tanning processes. Since then, our focus is on creating and maintaining quality products.

We are majority woman owned, we manufacture and blend our products in Golden, CO. Our commitment is on providing product recommendation and support for the DIY tanner, small rancher, taxidermist, and hair-on tanneries.

We believe in utilizing as much of the animal as possible coinciding with our motto “Finish the hunt, save your hide.”

HACCP Plans and Regulatory Consulting (Including Third-Party Certification)YesYesNo25 years of USDA regulatory experience in the meat, poultry, and egg products industry, including oversight of HACCP implementation, adherence to SSOP and labeling regulations, assuring the humane handling of livestock for slaughter, import / export issues, regulatory investigations, food illness outbreak trace-backs, and managing recalls. Hands-on experience with in-plant regulation serving as an Inspector in Southern California, then as an Enforcement Investigations and Analysis Officer, and Frontline Supervisor in Northern California. Transitioned to an Investigator, and then Supervisory Investigator, within the Office of Investigation, Enforcement and Audit in Denver, Colorado. During my tenure with OIEA I conducted, and supervised, numerous surveillance activities, enforcement actions, recall actions, criminal investigations, and criminal prosecutions for the western region. In 2015 I promoted to Deputy District Manager for the Denver District, managing the in-plant inspection activities conducted by a multi-disciplinary team. My team carried out regulatory inspection activities in approximately 300 meat, poultry, and egg, inspection establishments across several states and US territories.

Following my retirement from federal service I established a consulting firm in 2019 to assist industry producers with regulatory issues relating to all aspects of food safety in the meat and poultry industry. We assist our clients with obtaining Federal Grants of Inspection, HACCP & SSOP development and implementation, assistance with labeling, facility and equipment review and consultation, guidance with microbiological and chemical testing, Humane Handling Program development and implementation, and we provide technical expertise in responding to, managing, and resolving all regulatory issues.

7102/18/23 9:52 AMWild Kid AcresNortheastGrant Writing, Feasibility Studies, and Business Plan ConsultantsYesNoNoWild Kid Acres is owned by a Minority, Veteran and Beginning farmer, Gerardo Martinez. Gerardo Martinez, a Naval Academy graduate of the class of 2011, served in the Marines. Subsequently, he worked in corporate life, operating a leadership development firm. His 5 acres Anne Arundel county farm property was purchased in 2019. Upon purchasing the property; Gerardo and his family set out to convert the unofficial dump into a thriving homestead using Climate-Smart Agricultural practices. The family built the home and all the infrastructure surrounding the farm by hand. Originally from the inner city and migrant families themselves, Gerardo and his family also wanted to ensure that their new homestead could serve as a model for other young families looking to find alternative ways to redevelop properties. Due to the onset of COVID19 and their unique location within a suburban environment, the family was bombarded with curiosity and demand to visit the farm property. In 2020 the family made a choice to open its farm doors solely for the purpose of community agriculture enrichment. This led to explosive growth in demand for programming and by 2021 they had named their farm Wild Kid Acres. Wild Kid Acres identified three main goals for the farm: To inspire the community; enhance local economic development; and enrich the local ecosystem with Climate-Smart Agricultural practices. As 2021 began, the family more proactively involved the community in their learning experiences and growth. From there, the farm not only became an educational venue but also a refuge for animal therapy clients both young and old. It became a way for inner city minority teens to witness a farmer who looked like them and was from the same background care for animals, regenerate the land, and seek out agricultural resources from existing institutions. In just a few months Wild Kid Acres became a focal point for agricultural education, access, and inclusion. Throughout 2022, the family set out to learn as much as they could from the local agricultural community, expand the infrastructure of the farm to include an aggregate farm market and production kitchen processing facility, formalize youth and family programming, develop diverse income streams, and ensure sustainable partnerships with all their different audiences.Beginning Farmer or Rancher
